RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - It was all smiles at Sunriver Park this week, as family, friends and neighbors enjoyed a Good Neighbor Day event with city staff, RCPD, and other community partners.

Over 200 residents enjoyed city information and services, community information, a barbecue, face painting, games and more.

“Getting to know the community face-to-face is one of the best things about working in the City of Rancho Cordova,” said Lorianne Ulm, Community Engagement Manager. “We love getting the chance to bring City Hall to our community.”

The city’s Community Engagement Division plays an important city role in bringing neighbors together, growing community leaders, and connecting residents and businesses with volunteer opportunities.

If you are interested in getting to know your neighbors, be on the lookout for a Good Neighbor Day event in your neighborhood or learn how to host your own community event with support from the city’s Community Micro Grant Program, which is funded by the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund. Any community group, organization, collection of neighbors, club or agency that is seeking funding to complete an activity or project that improves the quality of life in a Rancho Cordova neighborhood is eligible to apply for the program.
