Burglary suspect arrested

MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - A suspect has been arrested for burglarizing a business. The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Donald James Olson of Rancho Cordova.

On March 2, 2022, at approximately 6:35 a.m., a Marysville resident reported a suspicious male wearing all black prowling near Round Table Pizza, located in the 200 block of 9th Street. Marysville Police Officers responded and arrived at the business within 2 minutes. 

Officers found a van with its engine running on the west side of Round Table Pizza, along with a window removed to the business. Additionally, officers observed Olson flee into the business through the window. After establishing a perimeter, Olson climbed out of the window and surrendered. 

Officers searched the business and found that Olson had destroyed the office door and was grinding open the safe. Olson was taken into custody before he could access the contents of the safe. Furthermore, officers located several burglary tools within Olson's vehicle and on his person. 

After the investigation concluded, Olson was booked for 459 PC, burglary, 594(b)(1) PC, vandalism over $400, and 466 PC, possession of burglary tools. Olson remains in custody at the Yuba County Jail with a bail amount of $25,000 pending future court proceedings.
