CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) — To address the ongoing pandemic and its effect on local business owners in the area, Crossroads Church, located at 7100 Fair Oaks Blvd. at the corner of Grant Avenue, has developed a new support group for business owners in Carmichael and surrounding areas. Titled “A Place to Talk,” Senior Pastor Curt Pearson describes the meet-up as a safe place to talk about the challenge and stress of running a business in 2021.
“We love our community of businesses here in Carmichael and we know that many are struggling right now, not only to stay afloat, but we know that mental health and happiness is also playing a role through all of this,” says Pearson, “so we wanted to open a space up monthly for talking about various struggles.”
With support from the Carmichael Improvement District and the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, the idea to provide this unique opportunity came about in speaking with several local business owners and members of the community, as well as the aforementioned organizations – both of which have a large base of business members who have regularly shared their concerns about the future of their business.
The format will be hosted by local pastors, with one-on-one conversations available. The meeting will be a supportive space to discuss how the pandemic has impacted these businesses and their owners, their needs, fears, hopes and to give encouragement.
The first group meets at 7:30 AM on Monday, March 1st, with plans for at least two more meetings on the first Monday of April and May. Coffee and water will be provided. Social distancing measures will be in place.
