Legislature Rejects Effort to Suspend the Harmful Impacts of AB 5
Feb 28, 2020 12:00AM ● By By Joshua Hoover, Office of Assemblyman Kevin KileySACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – The Legislature rejected a motion by Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R-Rocklin) to suspend AB 5 while corrective legislation is under consideration. Assemblyman Kiley responded with the following statement:
“Today’s vote defied basic human decency. The Assembly consciously chose to keep enforcing a law that everyone, including the author, acknowledges has major problems and is destroying people’s lives. I’ve never been more ashamed of this legislative body.”
Assemblyman Kevin Kiley represents the 6th Assembly District, which includes the Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado County communities of Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, Orangevale, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, and Sheridan.
