California Republican Party Endorses Cathy Cook for Assembly District 8

Dec 19, 2019 12:00AM ● By Submitted by Cathy Cook for Assembly 2020

SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) – Cathy Cook, Republican Candidate for State Assembly District 8, announced her campaign has been endorsed by the California Republican Party.

Jessica Millan Patterson, Chair of the California Republican Party (CRP), released the following statement:

“As chairwoman of the CRP, it gives me great pleasure to inform you that our Board of Directors has voted to endorse you, at our recent Board meeting, for the 8th Assembly District. Thank you for all you have done and all that you will do on behalf of the California Republicans.”

Ms. Patterson went on to state: “As an endorsed candidate of the California Republican Party, you are permitted to use our logo and name for endorsement purposes.”

Cathy responded:

I would like to thank the California Republican Party for their endorsement. Throughout my life, I never shied away from a challenge. After graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, I joined the Air Force and was a trailblazer for women by completing Pilot Training in 1981. While serving at Mather Air Force Base as an Aircraft Commander, I volunteered to fly in Desert Shield when Iraq invaded Kuwait. I flew combat missions supporting air strikes into Iraq, a first for women in US history. For 33 years, I have been flying for Delta Airlines and am currently an International Captain.

Now I am ready to fight for the residents of the 8th Assembly District. A lifelong Sacramento resident and mother of 2 sons, I have been active in school, church and community activities. As President of Mission Oaks North Neighborhood Association for the past ten years, I represent over 1500 households in Arden-Arcade and Carmichael. I listen to their concerns about California’s high cost of living, homelessness, increasing taxes, crime, diminishing quality of public education, companies and neighbors relocating to other states, with no hope for change under the current leadership.

I will be a strong voice for our middle-class families to improve their quality of life and hold down their taxes.  I will bring new energy and a positive, cooperative attitude to the Assembly for the good of my constituents.  It's time to elect a candidate with a lifetime record of integrity and willingness to solve problems impacting our community. I am up to this challenge, and ask for your support.
