Zach Meddings ended an incredible year with the Franklin Wildcats baseball team by being named Co-Player of the Year for the Delta League.
Meddings is joined by teammates Chase Davis, Nico Regino, Carson Stevens and Grant Stevens on the Delta All-League team after they spent most of the season atop the Delta League standings and went on to play in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs.
Elk Grove’s Jack Colville and Kenny Williams made the list, as did Pleasant Grove’s Dylan Hartman.
James Easter and Lincoln Orellana of Sheldon also made All-League and Cole Bendle of Cosumnes Oaks rounded out the list of Elk Grove Unified School District athletes.
Nick Vogt of Davis was Co-Player of the Year.
Meddings went 8-1 for the Wildcats and had a 1.54 ERA and struck out 59 batters.
Offensively, Meddings had a .376 batting average, 35 hits, 18 RBI and 32 runs for the Wildcats, who went 13-5 in the Delta League and were 20-8 overall.
Davis batted .284 and scored 33 runs, had 23 hits and had 21 RBI, while Regino had a .394 batting average, had 34 runs, 39 hits and 30 RBI.
Carson Stevens batted .320 and scored 19 runs, had 24 hits and had 25 runs. Grant Stevens had a 1.62 ERA, had a 6-2 win-loss record and struck out 47 batters.
Easter, a senior, batted .351 and had 13 runs, 26 hits and 12 RBI for the Huskies. Orellana had a .350 batting average, 16 runs, 28 hits and nine RBI.
Colville had a .356 batting average, has 19 runs, 32 hits and 14 RBI for the Thundering Herd and Williams, a freshman, had a .288 batting average, scored 10 runs, had 17 hits and seven RBI.
Hartman batted .410 and scored 15 runs, had 32 hits and had 21 RBI for the Eagles.
Bendle, a senior, had a .289 batting average for the Wolfpack and scored four runs, had 22 hits and had 11 RBI.
