After a year in which they both helped their teams earn a league title, Ava Hand of Elk Grove and Vianna Barron of Sheldon were voted Delta Co-Players of the Year at the end of the season.

Adding to the long list of local players who were voted All-League is Daisy Angele, Ariyana Miranda, Angelica Cano and Brooklynn Pettis of the Thundering Herd.

Sheldon’s Grace Owen, Kiannah Pierce, Kenedi Brown and Jazlyn Fines were also voted All-League, as were Cosumnes Oaks’ Kennedy Thomas, Kennedy Echols and Drew Rodriguez.

Ally Montes de Oca and Sophie Jacquez of Pleasant Grove and Jadyn Fernald rounded out the Elk Grove Unified School District All-League players.

Elk Grove’s Amanda Buck was named Delta Coach of the Year, as was St. Francis’ Kevin Warren.

Buck coached the Thundering Herd to a 9-3 league record, which tied with Sheldon for the league’s best record.

Hand, a junior pitcher for the Lady Herd, had a 15-2 win-loss record in 29 appearances and struck out 196 batters. At the plate, Hand had a .329 batting average, had 27 hits, 12 RBI and two runs.

Barron had a .368 batting average, 35 hits, 23 runs, four home runs and 31 RBI for the Lady Huskies.
