Pleasant Grove remains undefeated emerging with a 35-31 win over Laguna Creek in its second game of the year.

The Cardinals led 9-7 after the first quarter before Pleasant Grove scored twice in the second quarter to take a 22-17 lead into halftime.

Laguna Creek scored twice in the third quarter, however, and held the three-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

The Eagles scored in the final quarter to take the lead for good and emerge with the win.

Mason Corrigan rushed for three touchdowns and 160 yards and also led his teammates with his 10 tackles, Jalen Kennedy had two touchdown receptions and 112 yards and quarterback Devin Hall passed for two touchdowns and 204 yards and rushed for an additional 90 yards.

Israel McCoy led the Cardinals with seven tackles, Makaio Liu had one interception, Jason Simmons had a fumble recovery and Lucas Gomez caused a fumble for Laguna Creek.

The Eagles are 2-0 heading into tonight’s game against Yuba City, while the Cardinals take a 1-1 record to their home game against Sheldon tonight.
