Robert A. Lewis

Robert (Bob) Alan Lewis, age 70, a Viet Nam Veteran, died peacefully at home with his family at his side on March 7, 2020, in Meridian, Idaho.

Bob was born in Sacramento, California. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Lewis, sister, Mari, and brothers Bill and Jeff. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene, daughters, Sandi (Greg) Bacon, Sherri Anderson, and Susan (Mark) Cappello, six grandchildren, sister Jan (John) Lewis-Moe, brothers Ronald and Richard Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

Bob worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and inspector for PG&E and retired after 20 years. In 1971, he pursued his affection for airplanes and earned his pilot's license. After retiring from PG&E, he attended Sacramento City College to pursue his love of airplanes. He received his A&P Certification, earned ratings in CFI, CFII, IA, and was Type rated in a Citation Jet. Despite having Rheumatoid Arthritis, he kept active restoring a '67 Chevelle.

After COVID-19 isolation restrictions are lifted, a military service will take place at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.
