Howard Sihner

Howard Raymond Sihner, 85, was born in San Francisco on July 16, 1935, and passed away on August 7, 2020, with his wife of 64 years, Jonnie Sihner, at his side. He was predeceased by his parents Martha and Otto Sihner, brothers Robert Sihner and wife Donnas, Herb Sihner,  nephews Craig Sihner and Mike McFall, and niece Wendy Sihner. He is survived by his wife Jonnie and two children, daughter Lori Pluto and son Richard Sihner and his wife Tuttie, grandchildren Joie Sihner, Cody Sihner, Travis Sihner, Jazzie Pluto and great grandchildren Paxton Sihner and Tobias Pluto.

Howard was a Veteran of the National Guard for 8 years and retired after 31 years of being an Investigator for the District Attorney's office.  He was a resident of Elk Grove for about 50 years and very involved in the community. Howard was President of the Guild and was on several boards including the Sacramento County Cemetery Advisory Commission, Elk Grove Old Town Foundation and the Historic Preservation. He was also a member of the Antique Carriage Club.

Howard was also honored as Elk Grove's Volunteer of the Year and one year was the Honorary Grand Marshal for the Elk Grove Western Festival Parade. In his spare time, he enjoyed rebuilding vintage carriages and farming.

Howard was a member of Light of the Valley Lutheran Church and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to fegas.org, Friends of Elk Grove Animal Shelter.
