Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Fassler

Elizabeth “Betty” Fassler abruptly passed away at the age of 84 on December 29, 2020 and was a sudden,     unexpected victim of COVID-19 pneumonia after a week-long battle.  She was born to Ollie and Jane Lykins in Sacramento, CA on May 8th, 1936.  She was preceded in death by her two brothers Jim Lykins and Bob Lykins.  She is survived by her 3 children Lawrence (wife          Armelle), Ellen and Wayne and granddaughter Eloise.  She was a graduate of Elk Grove High School Class of 1954, graduate of Cosumnes River College Magna Cum Laude and earned a Certified Financial Planner          designation.  She spent her career with IDS Financial Services which was acquired by American Express in 1984, becoming American Express Financial Advisors in 1995.  After nearly 20 years, Betty retired to go on to serve her community in Elk Grove and Sacramento      offering pro-bono tax services, volunteered for the Music Circus, Community Center, B Street Theater and was a mentor to many.  Her loving, kind, generous spirit and positive attitude will always be remembered.  

Betty led a full life, led with global travel covering all 7 continents, endless social activities, athletic events,      numerous hobbies, arts and crafts and parlor games such as her Bunco Group.  She was a season ticket holder to the Sacramento River Cats, loved the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, who valued her accountability,    loyalty and sincerity. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A private family service was held in January due to the global pandemic. A private Memorial Service will be on May 22 followed by a Celebration of Life.  Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Special Olympics Northern      California.
