Donald G. Yount

Donald G. Yount was born March 11, 1934 in Okemah, Oklahoma, the son of Mac and Alta Yount. He moved to Elk Grove in 1948, where he lived the remainder of his life. He went home to the Lord on April 8, 2021. Don was a very faithful man, and his children and grandchildren will always remember his strong dedication to the Lord and the example he set for all of them. He leaves his wife Neoma (Cecil) of 68 years, his Sons John (Debra Kay), Donald L. (Debra Sue), Michael (Cindy) Daughter Debra Gaye Nugent (Kevin), Daughter in Law Tammy Yount and Brother Lee Yount (Charlotte). 13 Grandchildren: Jason Yount (Sandra), Aaron Yount (Kellye), Crystal Yount, Stephanie Yount, Nichole Yount Kehm, Chris Yount, Michael T. Yount (Tracy,) Rev. Scott Yount (Lena), Trevor Yount, Sean Nugent (Kia), Brad Nugent, Emily Robinson (Jones) and Chris Nugent (Michelle). 7 Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Jase, Troy, Samuel Yount, Easton Kehm, Kellan Nugent, and Zachary Robinson.

Don graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1952. He served in the Navy reserves for 4 years. He was an electrician by trade working for Citizens Utilities and Pacific Bell. In 1966 Don moved his family to Hawaii and worked at Pearl Harbor as a Nuclear Inspector on nuclear subs. Returning to Elk Grove In 1969, Don worked for SMUD at Rancho Seco and retired as Electrical Supervisor of Rancho Seco in 1990. He spent the next 20 years as Treasurer for St. Peter's Lutheran Church and School.

In his spare time Don coached his sons and many of the Youth of Elk Grove in Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball and Pop Warner Football. Don loved the game of golf and enjoyed several years with his Men's Golf Group. Don enjoyed traveling with his wife Neoma and especially enjoyed many summers with his family at Donnor Lake and family trips to Mexico and Hawaii.

Graveside Services will be held April 26, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. East Lawn Cemetery 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, Ca. 95624
