Carol Ann Conklin, 72, of Anacortes, formerly of Elk Grove, CA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Mullen residence in Anacortes. She was born on July 9, 1946 in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Ellsworth R and Annabelle (Kiefer) Conklin. At the age of 7, Carol moved with her family to South San Francisco, CA, where she attended Sunshine Gardens Elementary School, Parkway Junior High School and was one among the first graduating class of El Camino High School in 1965. Carol continued to live at home with her parents in So. San Francisco before her family moved to Elk Grove, CA.
In Elk Grove, Carol was introduced to the Elk Grove Adult Community Training Program, with the support of her parents and Alta Regional Center. She participated daily in socialization, life skills training, collaboration with other program participants celebrating one another and crafting goods for donation to local children's and elderly facilities for several years. She enjoyed bowling, family gatherings, singing and especially Christmas time. Her favorite color was red. Carol moved to an adult care home in Elk Grove in 2007 for approximately 7 years before moving to Anacortes, WA in 2015 to be near her sister's family. Carol was her family's angel on earth. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family.
She loved without reservation and put others first in her life always. Carol's kindness, compassion, positivity, caring, and unselfishness impacted each life she touched. She was reverent in her Catholic faith and participated in home visits from her Parish Deacon weekly and during her last illness.
Carol is preceded in death by her grandparents, John Kiefer & Isabella Mergenhagen Casey, her parents, Ellsworth R Conklin and Annabelle Kiefer Conklin, and brother James E. Conklin.
