Nov. 28, 1928- Mar. 19, 2021
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend passed peacefully to the arms of Jesus at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento. She was born on Nov. 28, 1928 in Ripon, the middle child of 9, to John Beglinger and Margaret Moore Beglinger. She was married for more than 63 years to her devoted husband, Bruno Deter, who provided her with constant loving care for the last few years of her life. She was the mother of four children: Alison Lull (John), Melinda DeBord (Dan), Paul Deter (Sandra), and Janell Bekauri (Zaza). She was preceded to heaven by her cherished son, Paul Deter, and her beloved grandson, Garsevan Bekauri. All of her 8 siblings also preceded her to heaven. She was raised in Turlock. She attended Modesto Junior College majoring in foreign languages. She worked as a bookkeeper for various private businesses for several years. She devoted herself to the care of her family, service work with Christian organizations of the Lutheran church, cooking, gardening, sewing, and faithfully supporting her children and her husband in all of their endeavors. When her children were young, the entire family went on numerous trips to national parks, Disneyland, other states, and Canada. When her children were grown, she and Bruno traveled extensively in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. She was a loving grandma to 13 grandchildren who fondly remember her story reading and specially prepared meals. She was the great-grandma to 11.
The family lived in San Diego for several years before moving to the Rosemont area of Sacramento. The final family move was to a two acre ranchette in the country outside Elk Grove, where they enjoyed horses, dogs, cats, cottontails, and birds for 46 years.
