The Elk Grove police arrested three suspects, ages 15-16, for allegedly assaulting and robbing a 14-year-old pedestrian during the late afternoon of June 5. The victim suffered injured after being slammed to the ground, authorities reported. A fourth suspect remains at large.

Authorities did not release the arrested suspects’ identities since they are minors.

This incident was reported around 5 p.m. at the corner of Ravenna and Trapani ways in the East Franklin area.

Elk Grove police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said that four suspects confronted and punched the victim while he walking at the scene. One stole his shoes while the other suspects held him down, Jimenez reported. The suspects then ran away from the scene.

Jimenez reported that officers arrived and contacted three boys who matched the suspect descriptions while they were walking near the crime site.

A 16-year-old suspect allegedly refused to identify himself to the police; they later learned his identity and discovered there was a warrant for his arrest. All of the arrested suspects were booked into juvenile hall on robbery and assault charges, while the 16-year-old suspect also has police resistance, probation violation, and warrant charges.

Authorities describe the fourth suspect as an African American male juvenile who wore a white shirt and blue jeans.
