A vehicle carrying five unknown suspects ran over a person during a robbery of a fireworks stand at Elk Grove Boulevard on June 30. The victim was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries, Elk Grove police reported. 

This incident was reported around 8:30 p.m. at the 8700 block of Elk Grove Boulevard in central Elk Grove. Elk Grove police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said that the suspects targeted the fireworks stand in the Smart & Final supermarket's parking lot. 

Police said that a dark-colored SUV pulled up to the stand where one suspect  stole a large box of fireworks. The victim then tried to stop the suspects from driving away from the scene. Jimenez said that one passenger grabbed the victim, which caused the moving vehicle to drag her. The victim was then run over by the SUV after a suspect punched and knocked the victim to the ground. 

Authorities currently have few descriptions of the suspects other than three are described as African American male adults and two suspects are female adults of unknown race or ethnicity.
