Halloween is near, and Elk Grove businesses will be offering the community fun events to help you celebrate what is often thought of by many as the kickoff of the holiday season.

These businesses have planned events leading up to, and on the day of Oct. 31 that are catered to all ages.

Below are just some of the local pre-Halloween and Halloween events coming up.

Fog Willow Pumpkin Farm

There has been a decade-old tradition of visiting Wilton’s Fog Willow Pumpkin Farm before Halloween. Located just 10 minutes from the heart of Elk Grove, Fog Willow offers pumpkin farm field trips, unlimited hayrides, a petting zoo, pony rides, a barbecue lunch on weekends, pumpkins galore and more each year from Sept. 30-Oct. 31. Trunk or Treat at Kovar's Martial Arts Waterman

Kovar's Martial Arts located at 9320 Elk Grove Blvd. will be holding their annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 27, 6-9 p.m. Kovar's students and parents will be able to volunteer for the evening, decorate and pass out treats to all that come by. Dia De Los Muertos Family Festival at Marketplace 99

The Marketplace 99 Shopping Center, located at 9105 East Stockton Blvd., will be hosting its Dia De Los Muertos Family Festival on Oct. 27, 5-9 p.m. The free event includes many family activities including live performance art, a live DJ, traditional Aztec performance dances, face painting, bounce houses, and more.

Dreaming Dog Brewery's Halloween Party

Elk Grove's newest brewery will be hosting a Halloween karaoke and costume party on Oct. 28, 7-10 p.m. Prizes for best costume for dogs and their owners will be awarded, and a food truck will be available. Dreaming Dog Brewery is located 2501 West Taron Court, near Elk Grove Boulevard and Interstate 5.

Boos and Brews! Halloween at Flatland Brewing Company

The Flatland Brewing Company will be hosting a pre-Halloween celebration from noon to 9 p.m. on Oct. 28. Attendees can enjoy $1 off their first pint if you come in costume. Complimentary kids Halloween crafts will also be featured and available while supplied last. Food from Go Falafel will be available to purchase. The California State Fair award-winning brewery is at 9183 Survey Road, Elk Grove.

Trick or Truck at Tilted Mash Brewery

Tilted Mash Brewery will be hosting their first Trick or Truck for families on Oct. 29, 1-3 p.m. Bring the kids out in their best costumes for this fun, pre-Halloween event. Tilted Mash Brewery is located at 9175 Union Park Way.

Babe's Lounge Halloween Party 
 
The staff at Babe's Lounge in Old Town Elk Grove will be hosting their first Halloween Party on Oct. 29, 6-9 p.m. There will be happy hour prices all night long with various drink specials, tacos will be served from 6-9 p.m. by Get Canned Street Tacos, and there will be a best costume contest where the winner will receive a Babe's Lounge T-shirt and a spooktacular surprise. Babe's is located at 9021 Elk Grove Blvd. 

Halloween Baby Storytime (ages 0-18 months) at Elk Grove Library

On Oct. 31 from 12-12:30 p.m., Elk Grove Library staff will host an interactive experience focused on babies from birth through 18 months. The program encourages early literacy development through movement, as well as songs and shared reading followed by play activities. Elk Grove Library is located at 8900 Elk Grove Blvd. in Old Town.

Halloween Movie Matinee at Elk Grove Library

On Halloween from 3:30-6 p.m., attendees at Elk Grove Library will be able to choose from the following movies to watch: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (PG-13); Hocus Pocus (PG); and Wonder Woman (PG-13). This is an all-ages event.

Preschool Storytime Costume Party at Franklin Community Library

This special Costume Party Storytime on Halloween is for kids age 0-5 and features 30 minutes of fun and song with Franklin Library staff from 10-11 a.m. No costume is necessary. Attendees can decorate masks and dance. This will be a scare-free, kid-friendly party; no surprise ghouls or zombies. Franklin Community Library is located at 10055 Franklin High Road.
