Hanson, a pop band that’s best known for their 1997 hit song, “MMMBop,” will entertain animal lovers at the city of Elk Grove’s annual Pet-A-Palooza festival in Elk Grove Regional Park on Sunday, June 10.

Elk Grove is apparently having a Retro 90’s weekend since rapper Vanilla Ice is scheduled to appear at the grand opening of the Lumber Liquidators store during the morning of June 9 at 8777 Elk Grove Blvd.

Hanson will play a free concert at Pet-A-Palooza where attendees can visit pet adoption booths, view exotic animal exhibitions, and learn about animal rescue groups.

Organizers will also host a Wag-N-Walk fundraiser that morning. Dog owners can take their dogs on a 1.4-mile walk around the park and visit “pawstops” such as a water station. Registration check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. The registration fee is $15 and is due by Friday, June 8. Proceeds will benefit the city’s future animal shelter. Walkers will receive T-shirts and a “gift for Fido,” organizers said.

To register, visit the city’s website, www.ElkGroveCity.org/events.

The Pet-A-Palooza lasts from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Road.
