Fleeing suspect allegedly injures officer
A 31-year-old man allegedly pushed and injured an Elk Grove police officer while he tried to flee authorities during the early morning of Nov. 23. Police detained him and reportedly found methamphetamine in his possession.
This incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. at the 8800 block of Calvine Road in north Elk Grove.
Jeffrey Marshall of Elk Grover was arrested on police resistance, probation violation, drug, and warrant charges. He was wanted on battery charges, according to jail records.
Elk Grove police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said that officers previously knew that Marshall was on probation and had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect reportedly tried to run away when officers saw him at the scene.
Jimenez said that one officer grabbed Marshall who then pushed against the officer and caused both of them to fall down. The officers then suffered injuries while the suspect tried to flee, authorities reported.
Police booked the suspect into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
Teen accused of house burglary
Elk Grove police arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly burglarized a house during the early morning of Nov. 24. A second suspect could not be found.
This incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. at the 9600 block of Shale Court in the East Elk Grove area.
Authorities did not release the suspect’s name since he’s a minor.
Elk Grove police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said that a house sitter saw the suspects inside the victim’s home. The sitter reportedly hid while the suspects stole property and left the scene.
Officers later arrived and used a K9 unit to find the 14-year-old suspect hiding in a backyard. They also reportedly found two backpacks that contained the stolen items as well as two tire irons. The suspect was booked into juvenile hall.
Robber carjacks car washer
An unknown man punched and robbed a man while he was washing his car during the early evening of Nov. 24. The suspect then stole his car and fled the scene.
This incident was reported around 8:50 p.m. at the 9100 block of Klagge Court in the Laguna West area.
Elk Grove police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said the suspect went through the victim’s pockets before stealing his car. He added that a white sedan driver followed the suspect as they left the scene. Police later reportedly found the victim’s car in Sacramento.
Authorities described the robber as an Asian male in his twenties who stands six feet, two inches tall and weighs an estimated 200 pounds. He wore a white shirt and black jeans.
