Elk Grove Vice Mayor Pat Hume at last year’s Bounty on the Boulevard.

The 2nd annual “Bounty on the Boulevard is already sold out!

This June 9 feast at the Old Town Plaza is the primary fundraiser for the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation.  All proceeds will benefit the youth of our community.

The Foundation this month presented 160 scholarships, totaling more than $251,000.

This event, which is all about giving back to the community, begins with graduates of the Elk Grove Unified School District, doing just that.  All of the chefs and restaurants below are donating their time, talent, and treasures to support our youth:

• Boulevard Bistro executive chef and owner, Bret Bohlmann is a 1987 graduate of Elk Grove High School.

• UMAI Bar and Grill owners Shan Liang and Feng Liang are both graduates of Elk Grove High School:  Shan in 2005 and Feng in 2006.   Their chef, Danny Nguyen is a 2007 graduate of Monterey Trail High School.

• Sheldon Inn Restaurant and Bar chef, Rebecca Pasqual is a 2011 graduate of Elk Grove High School.

In addition to these local graduates, the Elk Grove Unified connection continues! Cosumnes Oaks High School Culinary Arts Academy instructor Vinnie Lazzaretto will be providing the dessert for 340 guests with the help of his very talented students.

And finally, our Elk Grove Unified School District Superintendent Christopher Hoffman will be speaking at our event. The leader is a 1986 graduate of Valley High School.

People move to Elk Grove because of the outstanding schools and caring community.  And what is so exciting about this event is that it showcases just that.  Talented graduates tirelessly give up some of their time to support our future graduates.

How lucky are we to live in Elk Grove!
