The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is hosting workshops in June at their facility on 9683 Elk Grove-Florin Road. The workshops: “Zentangle – Basic and Beyond Basic with Kim Kohler,” one-day session on June 15 (beyond basic), from 12-3 p.m.; “What’s That? Abstracts with Amy Vidra,” on June 5, from 3-5 p.m.; “Beginning Acrylic for Fun with Margaret,” on June 20 and 27, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.; “Poured Acrylic Painting – Ocean Scenes and Waves with Kim Shaw,” Wednesday, June 12, from 5:30-8 p.m.; “Beginning Scratchboard with Debra Williams,” Friday, June 14 from 12-4 p.m.; “Watercolor Batiking with Judy Ng,” Wednesday, June 19, from 12-3:30 p.m. There will also be workshops for children: “Private Art Tutoring with Stacy Maeda, Specializing in Drawing Animals,” for ages 7 and up, contact for more information; “Bluebird Art – Kids Watercolor with Erin Martinelli,” two 1-day sessions on June 12 and 18, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., ages 7-12. The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center offers private art tutoring and help on art projects, particularly on drawing animals. Painting and drawing mediums are offered. The cost is $30 per hour in an appointment, and instruction is offered to students ages 7 and up.
