A scene from last year’s Victorian Christmas decoration.

The traditional Victorian Christmas will again be celebrated at the Elk Grove Historical Society each Friday evening and Saturday & Sunday afternoons at 12-5 p.m. through Dec. 23 for an admission fee of $5 per visitor.

The eight rooms of the museum and the surrounding yard have been lavishly decorated with bells, bows, trees, and lights by local artists.

Santa will be available to meet individually with the children each Saturday and Sunday from 12-4:45 p.m.  After self-guided tours of the decorated rooms of the museum, the children will also be able to decorate a large cookie with frosting and sprinkles in the kitchen.  While visiting with Santa, professional pictures with Santa are available for $15 each.

The museum will also be open each Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. so guests can enjoy the thousands of lights.  Santa will not be available on Friday nights but guests will be able to enjoy their self-guided tour of the decorated rooms, a complimentary glass of wine and light hor d’oeuvres.

The museum is located at 9941 East Stockton Blvd. at the west entrance to Elk Grove Regional Park.

Dennis Buscher is the second vice president of the Elk Grove Historical Society.
