Thelma Creekmore of Elk Grove recently celebrated her 90th birthday.
Many family members and friends gathered that day to participate in her birthday celebration at Mel Dogs Café on Waterman Road.
Various photos dating back to when Creekmore was 4 years old were around – one of which was of her mother, just before her parents got married in 1920.
The cafe was decorated with fall flower arrangements of all colors, and a buffet was served.
Creekmore’s daughter made her a 3-tier cake that was decorated in a basket weave with fall flowers.
Among the gifts she received that day was a large chart of her family tree that was presented by her daughter; the chart dated back to England in 1140.
Creekmore mentioned that she had driven a 91-passenger bus in Elk Grove for 21 years.
These days, she spends her time enjoying everyday life with family and friends.
What is Creekmore’s secret to living a long and healthy life?
“Hard work!” she exclaimed.
