Milk Shakes & Honey, located in the Sheldon Crossing Shopping Center, is a very unusual shop with an unusual name. Owner-manager Perlita Otis said Milk Shakes & Honey features precious baby and child accessories, fine home accents and style, home decor lamps, christening gowns, baby and child layettes and apparel, furniture accessories, toys and more.
Located at Elk Grove-Florin and Sheldon roads, Milk Shakes and Honey is a dream come true for Otis.
As for the name, Otis said: “Milk means nourishment. When you see beautiful products it nourishes your mind. Honey means sweet and special. And I added the word shakes because it defines a mixture of things special.”
Otis pointed out Milk Shakes & Honey is an upscale specialty retail shop, offering great quality, innovative and gorgeous products for babies and kids.
“We cater to the discriminating parents and grandparents who want only the best for their children and grandchildren,” she added. “And we also feature fine, unique and luxurious products for the home and gifts.”
Otis stated Milk Shakes and Honey carries a mix of great design products with emphasis on functionality in terms of children’s size furniture and accessories, creative and educational toys and books that will nourish the curious mind of the young, plus non-allergenic friendly toys along with trendy children’s apparel, shoes and linens.
She said for the home, Milk Shakes & Honey features a merchandise mix of luxurious, original looking, unique and great design quality products on accessories and soft furnishings and fine gifts from the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and France.
A local resident, Otis is proud that her daughter - Georgie - provides valuable customer help. Otis started her retail career in the Philippines, when at age 12 she started working for her mother.
“Our shop’s mission is to be different from other retailers,” she said. “We offer a myriad of great quality, unique design, gorgeous and fashionable products that customers will treasure at prices they are comfortable with. I also love people and treat them as special and important customers.”
Hours for Milk Shakes & Honey are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
